Infant Summer Trip
July 11, 2010
On Friday both the Infant and Junior departments went of their summer trip. The Infants visited Manor Farm Wildlife Park in Tenby. Unfortunately for the Infants the weather was not our friend on the day and it rained most of the morning. The children enjoyed a close up encounter with wallabies where they were allowed to feed them and also got very close to the different varieties of lemurs they had in the park. We saw other animals such a bison, flamingos and camels. Thank you to everyone who came on the day and apologies for not being able to sort out the weather for us.
Sport’s day
July 11, 2010
On Monday sport’s day was held for both Infant and Junior children. The weather held out meaning the event could be held on the field. The morning saw the Infants competing in sprint, egg and spoon, relay and obstacle races as well as some very competitive mums and dads races. All the children joined in well and received a certificate for their efforts. In the afternoon the Juniors competed in their individual events including relay, javelin throw, shot put, target throwing, speed jumping and long jump. Well done to all the children who competed and thank you to all parents who joined us on the day to support their children.
Infant Summer Trip 2010
April 25, 2010
As you may already be aware, both the infant and junior department of the school will be going on their summer school trip on Friday, 9th July. The destination for the infant trip has been decided as the Manor Farm Wildlife Park in Tenby. If your child is in class 1, 2, 5 or 6 they are eligible for this trip.
The trip will include a wallaby walk-through area, play area and other animals to see such as monkeys and flamingos. The trip will be all-day but more specific timings will be given closer to the date. We encourage children to be accompanied by an adult and little brothers or sisters are welcome to come along too. If parents are unable to make the trip the teachers going will supervise those children during the day.
We have booked two coaches for the trip and so seating is limited. Due to this, we are asking for a £6.50 deposit per person to be paid to book your seats on the coach. The total cost of the trip, including the deposit, is £11.50 per child and £14.50 per adult. The deposit and consent form below must be returned to school by Friday 7th May. Please make every effort to make this date as we cannot guarantee your place on the trip otherwise and may have to charge an increased price to hire another coach. Do not miss your place on this year’s summer trip!
SEAL assemblies
March 21, 2010
Last week, all the children in the school took part in their SEAL assembly. SEAL is the resource the school uses to teach PSHE. This terms topic was Relationships and it gave children the opportunity to think about and explore tough emotions like loss, jelousy and anger. The assemblies were an opportunity to share what had been talked about in the classrooms with our parents and carers.
St. David’s Day!
March 6, 2010
To celebrate St. David’s day all the children gathered in the hall in the afternoon to watch the other classes perform a short piece for the rest of the school. Class 1, 2, 5 and 6 performed various Welsh songs and rhymes, while class 3 performed two traditional Welsh folk dances. Class 4 told us all about Wales and what it means to be Welsh and then the whole school stood for the singing of the national anthem. It was a lovely day and it made us all proud to be Welsh.

Hair for Haiti!
January 23, 2010
In an effort to raise money to help the people of Haiti after the recent earthquake, all the children and adults came to school with crazy hair. With such a big effort on the day we managed to raise a fantastic £402 for the cause. Thank you to everyone that contributed. Class 2 wrote prayers for the people of Haiti at this difficult time.

Pupil of the term awards!
January 23, 2010
Due to the snow the presentation of the certificate for pupil of the term was delayed until this past week. At the end of each term every teacher must nominate one child to receive the award. This can be to reward a particular achievement over term or just to recognise excellent progress in a particular area. The winners for the autumn term are pictured below. Well done to all!
