Hawaiian Disco

To celebrate the end of term and give the Year 6 and other children leaving the school this year a chance to say goodbye, the PTA held a Hawaiian themed disco in the last week of term. There was a great turn out on the night and everyone put a lot of effort into their fancy dress. The children enjoyed dancing, music and party games and due to the excellent support of the event £250 was made for the school. Many thanks to everyone who came along on the day!
Summer Fair

This year’s summer fair took place today at 11. The weather turned out wonderfully and all events and stalls were enjoyed by all. A lot of preparation went into the day but it was all worth it as everyone involved with the school showed fantastic support and generosity throughout the day. Many thanks to Pets at Home and the fire service for visiting on the day and a huge thank you to everyone who donated items and contributed to different parts of the fair. The funds raised are being calculated and will be made known as soon as this is done. This money goes towards resources and work in the school providing a better learning and teaching environment.
Summer Fair

The preparation for this year’s Summer fair are well under way now. The fair will be held on Saturday 3rd July from 11am-2:30pm. There will be a wide array of stalls as well as entertainment on the day. There are still spaces for helpers to run one of the stalls and so if you would like to help out please see Miss Bobeldijk (class 2). On the day, weather permitting, there will be a bouncy castle, barbecue, face-painting, a fire engine, animal petting corner, throw a welly competition and lots of other fun games and stalls. Come along and support your school!

The next PTA meeting will be on Monday 19th April at 3:30pm. If you are interested in becoming part of the PTA please feel free to come along and join us. New members are always welcome. On the agenda for Monday will be the summer fair and our adults-only family fortunes night.

The PTA Easter event for this year was a great success thanks to all the effort made by members of the PTA, the generous donations of eggs for prizes and the support of children and parents on the night. In total nearly £450 was raised for the school. This money is essential for providing the children with new and interesting resources and keeping our classrooms up to date and interesting, so a massive thanks for your efforts.

The event will take place on Wednesday 24th March starting at 4.00 pm and will include an Easter Egg Hunt in the grounds, refreshments, a bonnet parade for which all participants will receive an Easter Egg and Easter Egg Bingo! All children taking part in the Easter Egg Hunt will get a mini egg for their efforts, whilst bingo cards will be sold for £1 each on the evening with winners of lines and full houses walking away with a number of the donated eggs. Further donations of Easter eggs are welcomed. Please come along on Wednesday to show your support for the school. Many thanks from your PTA.
Llantrisant’s Got Talent 2010

Well it’s official- Llantrisant DOES have talent, and by that we mean some serious amounts of talent. On Thursday the school was host to special PTA event held to celebrate the extra-curricular talents of the pupils. We saw everything from classic ballet to modern break-dancing and even a brave gymnastics performance. All the children who entered were fantastic and will receive a special certificate for their efforts when we go back to school. The winners on the night were Thomas, Seren and Megan but all acts were deserving of the main prize. The event raised £150 for the school as well so thank you very much for your continued support.
Xmas Disco

Here are some photos taken at the annual PTA Christmas disco. A great night was had by all and over £400 was raised to support the school. Extra congratulations to all of the prize winners on the night who danced and dressed up their way to victory. I am sure everybody is looking forward to the Easter disco now!

We would like to begin by thanking everybody for their wonderful support for the Christmas fair. We are now asking for your support again in the form of the school Christmas disco. All children are welcome and there will be games and dancing for the younger children followed by stalls and music for the older ones. There will be a small charge on entry which will buy you a raffle ticket for the prize draw. There will be food and drink available to buy as the disco will run from 5pm til 7pm this Tuesday (8th).
