Student Teachers & Placements
STUDENT TEACHERS
The school belongs to the Primary Partnership Scheme run by The University of Wales Institute, Cardiff. This means that from time to time students are placed at the school for teacher training. These student teachers will work on activities that run in line with the schemes of work from the school. Their professional development and the content of the work that they do here is largely monitored and encouraged by the class teacher.
STUDENT PLACEMENTS
Nursery nurse students from Pontypridd and Bridgend Colleges are a regular feature of the school. We have Nursery Nurse students in Classes 1 and 2 on day placements throughout the year.
We also have a number of pupils who come to the school for work experience from our local comprehensives i.e. Y Pant, Bryncelynnog and Tonyrefail.
Both students and parent helpers often prove to be a valuable additional resource to our school, helping groups perform specific activities and providing a valuable extra pairs of hands.
