Dosbarth
Melyn enjoying completing the final step of our mini #Welsh project.
Over the past few weeks, we have been planning our #CaffiCymraeg by making signs, decorative bunting and most importantly, designing an extra special menu!
The children have thoroughly enjoyed accessing our new area and developing their Welsh skills.
Dosbarth Melyn looking fabulous for our joint #WorldBookDay and #RedNoseDay celebrations!
Picture
Dosbarth Melyn have been thinking about how posters have different purposes, so today we made #missing posters with bold titles and key information! The children also developed their own success criteria to follow independently. Da iawn bawb! #literacygenre #informationtexts

More super examples of work from pupils in Dosbarth Melyn!
During our Teams meeting, the children collected data by asking their peers what their favourite insects were.
They then displayed their results in a Pictogram on J2Easy and typed up questions for Miss Williams to answer about their work!

Ardderchog bawb! :)

It was lovely to see all of the children dressed in their Pajamas on Friday to celebrate Children in Need! During the morning, we joined in with Joe Wick's '24 hour PE challenge'... the Pudsey Bear hops were definitely our favourite!
Dosbarth Melyn have been learning about the symbols for ‘greater than’ and ‘less than’ this week! They are extremely confident when comparing the value of numbers... how impressive! Well done bawb!
Dosbarth Melyn spend some time developing their collaborative skills this morning! Their job was to find all of the rhyming words in the pirate poem. A brilliant start to our poetry genre!

Dosbarth Melyn are enjoying learning about #BonfireNight today! We have listened to the story of Guy Fawkes, written acrostic poems, painted pictures and spent time building symmetrical rockets!
Dosbarth Melyn’s COOL time activities were a great success today! We are focusing on becoming more independent learners by ‘Continuing Our Own Learning’ #independentlearners

Each compass looks very different as there were no instructions given on how to make them!
Some brilliant number work taking place in Dosbarth Melyn this week! We have been focusing on recognising numbers to 20, 50 and 100, looking closely at place value to help us order numbers, sorting odd and even numbers and last by not least.... practising our number formation!

There was a tarantula called 'Fluffy' and we held a corn snake called 'Poppy'.

A visit from the fire service

We had a visit from the Pontyclun Fire Service recently. They came to tell us how to stay safe at home and that we should never play with matches.
We had a story, then the firemen challenged Mrs Cushion to get dressed into the Fire fighters kit as quickly as she could!
It was really funny!!!

Thankyou to all the parents who visited our class on Thursday- and thanks also for finding and holding mini-beasts!

take a look at our map sticks

We have be  learning about how the indigenous people from north america made maps sticks of their journeys.  They documented the routes they took by picking up remainders of the things they saw along their journey. They then attached the items  to a their sticks.
We made our own map sticks as we took a journey around our school.  We wrapped leaves, differnt coloured wools, sticks, reeds, and flowers which represented the differnt locations as we went on our journey. We then used our sticks to help us discribed our journey to the rest of the class.

fantastic news we helped raise £220 for comic relief.
Thank you everyone!
